Word for the day: "More than Conquerors"

Romans 8:35-37 (NKJV) Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? ³⁶ As it is written: “For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.”³⁷ Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.When considering the triumphant life we have in God, we may wrongly think that victory depends upon getting out of impossible situations. Just thought I'd encourage you today as another week comes to a close. Actually, we are already “More than conquerors” even while we are in the midst of the impossibilities that come our way.Sisters and brothers for us to be defeated, we would have to be separated from the Love of Christ. We would have to be cut off from the perpetual loving care of our victorious Lord who is in a class by Himself. Can any foe or any situation accomplish that? “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? This question is answered in verses 38 and 39. “³⁸ For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, ³⁹ nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”There is no spiritual foe that can enforce such a separation between our God and His beloved children. Neither can any circumstance of impossibility separate us from our Loving God. Verses 35 and 36 list some of the impossibilities we may endure and feel defeated v35 Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? Verse³⁶ As it is written: “For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.” When troubles and pressures arise, when are attacked or lacking provision, we may even be tempted to think victory is no longer available.Nevertheless, the truth is that in all these things we are “More than conquerors” Yes, right in the middle of the impossibilities of life, we are more than victorious with our God. It is relational, not circumstantial, thanks be to God who gives us victory through Jesus Christ.Prayer- Dear Father, I praise “You” for the constant provision of victory available through Jesus who loves us. Lord, help us to view spiritual victory as a relational matter and not a circumstantial one. I thank You that through Jesus Christ we are More than conquerors right in the midst of our present impossibilities, Amen, Amen!!Elder Baker
