Word for the day: "God repairs the broken"

Nehemiah 1:3 (NKJV) And they said to me, “The survivors who are left from the captivity in the province are there in great distress and reproach. The wall of Jerusalem is also broken down, and its gates are burned with fire.”The Book of Nehemiah is a powerful picture of God repairing what is broken and damaged. It tells us how Jerusalem had fallen into ruin and had become a sad portrait of what happens when God is forsaken. When word reached Nehemiah that Jerusalem was overgrown and crumbling, he was distraught. Although he was physically separated from the city, his heart was very much connected to Jerusalem’s condition. What is broken in your life that you need God to repair today? Sister’s and brother’s today’s word reminds us yet again, when faced with tough and critical times God and His word provides the anecdote we need.We must look to God for the answers and for the solutions to our problems. There are number of scriptures that give insight to our situations but none seem to bring it home I think better than the book of Nehemiah. (Especially if it’s a time in your life to rebuild, that which is broken and needs repair?) In recent days I’ve had to do some evaluating of the next steps in my life. I realized there were some important insights that could be learned from this time in Israel’s history. The history demonstrates how God’s people under His sovereignty were able to rebuild, repair, and be restored to the purposes of God for their lives. It is one of the greatest success stories in the revelation of God for His people. This proved to be a time when God’s people did it right and were rewarded with great blessings from God! Great work in God begins with great distress, great tears, and broken hearts. Have a great Monday knowing “God repairs the Broken.Elder Baker.
