Word for the day "Released from Addiction"

You have all the facts before you; whatever you decide about me is fair. I’ve been out of step with you for a long time, in the wrong since before I was born. What you’re after is truth from the inside out. Enter me, then; conceive a new, true life.One of the greatest theologians in Christianity was Augustine. Please note Augustine struggled with a sexual addiction. He discovered that his real battle was not in his inability to control his sexual passions but to enjoy God more than sex by experiencing His love. His freedom was realized when he encountered God relationally and personally. Do you know God relationally and personally or religiously and impersonally?Augustine in his book “Confessions” he states, “I shall now tell and confess to the glory of your name how you released me from the fetters of lust which held me so tightly shackled and from my slavery to the things of this world.” The public shame of sexual failure can be so great that it keeps many in bondage for a lifetime. But we can be released from this addiction, shame, and public failure by our God! Do you have this problem or know of someone who may have this problem?Addiction is anything that you cannot lay down by an act of your will. It does not matter what it is. It might be pornography; it might be drugs; it might be an ungodly relationship; it could be anything is the point of today’s message. Think about: that which controls you and rules you is your master. I have discovered the real problem with addiction or addictive tendencies is connected in our inability to believe in the unconditional love of our God. If you struggle in this private aspect of your life, I encourage you today to begin meditating on scriptures that connect you with the Love of God. God bless you and always!
