Word for the day "Power of Stewardship"
Psalm 115:16 (KJV) The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord's: but the earth hath he given to the children of men. When Adam and Eve were created, God gave them authority to manage all matters on the earth. As today’s Bible reading says “the earth He has given to the children of men”. Their sin in the garden represented a rebellious heart that enticed them to move from manager to owner. Satan influenced them that God was holding out on them, and he appealed to their pride to be all knowing like God (Genesis 3:5). What is appealing to your pride and heart today? Each of us has an innate sin nature that wants to be the boss, not just a steward of what God has entrusted to us. However, stewardship is a powerful role and is our role to represent God interests and to execute His will in the earth. When humankind sinned in the Garden of Eden, that authority was transferred to Satan. He was given free rein over the earth because of humankind’s disobedience. It was not until Jesus came to earth and reclaimed that authority through His death and payment of sin that humankind could stand against the power of Satan. So we are as humankind, back in position as Stewards in the earth for God because of Jesus obedience (Romans 5:19). “For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell, and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross” (Colossians 1:19-20). Have a great weekend operating in the “Power of Stewardship” in the earth for our God.
