Word for the day "Beyond Disappointments"
Joshua 1:9 (NIV) “Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”For many of us some of our most important desires are the ones we abandon. Some of our most important plans are the ones we don’t fully realize. Sometimes, our most important journeys are the ones that can lead us to what seems to be a dead-end street. Nevertheless, with God there are no dead-ends; there are only opportunities to learn, to yield, to trust, to serve, and to grow. The next time you experience one of life’s inevitable disappointments, don’t despair and please do not be afraid to try “Again.” Consider every disappointment as an opportunity to choose a different, more appropriate direction for your life. Have faith that God may indeed be leading you in an entirely different direction, a direction of His choosing, plan, and purpose. And as you take your next step, remember that what looks like a dead-end to you may, in fact, be the place God has in mind for your life. I wonder if you think because I write these devotions, these experiences and life disappointments do not happen in my life? Well they do sisters and brothers more than you will ever know!Quote: Catherine Marshall "Often God has to shut a door in our face so that He can subsequently open the door through which He wants us to go”Prayer: Gracious Lord, when we face the undeniable disappointments of life, please remind us that You are in control. You are the Giver of all good things, Father, will you bless us today, tomorrow, and for the rest of our life. In Jesus name Amen.
