Word for the day: "Good Affliction"

Psalm 119:71(KJV) It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy statutes."Happily ever after" belongs at the end of a fairy tale, not in the reality of our life here on earth especially a life lived for the Lord. I don’t know who this message is for today but here it is anyway. A life lived in Christ is often full of toils and troubles. Nevertheless God will see us through and we will have the scars of life to prove it!A life in Christ is real. It isn't plastic, it isn't fictitious, it isn't superficial, and it isn't fantasyland. In my few years of walking with the Lord, I have yet to meet one Christian who has "lived happily ever after." There is a television show on the ID cable channel called Happily Never After, please watch it sometimes, it shows many of the realities of life that many experience from day to day that’s not in the newspapers. However, I have met a great many significant people of God who have endured affliction, loss, disappointment, setbacks, failures, and incredible pain through the years. And I have seen many of those same men, women, and adolescents hold on to their joy, radiate hope, and sustain a fighting spirit, even through heartache, even through tears, and even at death's door. And God has a way of making the affliction in our lives work for our good!If you're waiting for a seamless, trouble-free week, my friends, you're going to wait in vain. There is no such thing in this life. And until we learn how to derive lessons from seasons of failure and loss, we'll keep repeating those failures, digging ourselves into an ever deeper hole; rather than moving on as we grow up. It’s all about learning and growing up in the Lord people of God, have a fantastic day.
