Psalm 110:1The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at My right hand, Till I make Your enemies Your footstool.”2 The Lord shall send the rod of Your strength out of Zion. Rule in the midst of Your enemies!We are often under the impression that waiting is something that's contrary to God's will for our lives. Our natural wiring for action and activity resists the dynamic and the supernatural discipline that waiting requires and produces. We incorrectly assume that waiting must mean something somewhere is wrong and God's will isn't being accomplished. Can you look back over your life and see your best interest was accomplished by waiting?In reality, the will of God almost always involves an element of waiting. It's not necessarily contrary to the achievement of God's will, but it is often the very evidence of it! Let’s look at today’s passage and see some real insight about God and waiting on God!Case in point, the opening verse of Psalm 110 is actually a conversation between the Father ("the LORD") and the Son, Jesus Christ ("my Lord"). Now, we can't possibly find a clearer expression of the divine will than this. This is the Father telling the Son what to do "Sit at My right hand, until I make Your enemies Your footstool."Prophetically, this is describing the time between Christ's ascension and His Second Coming to rule the world. Jesus ascended and took His place at the Father's right hand nearly 2,000 years ago, and He is still waiting for His guaranteed Victory as the King of the Earth, which will be at that time when every enemy is subdued before His feet (Revelation 19).Now, if it's the Father's will that His own Son wait, how much more can we expect our God to call us to the same discipline? The point is simply this: Waiting doesn't mean we are out of God's will or that we aren't accomplishing it. It's quite possible that our waiting is the proof that we are.So if you've been called to wait, be encouraged that Jesus is waiting too, and that you are waiting is actually living and moving in God's will (Acts 17:28), for in Him we live, move and have our being! Go ahead family of God wait on your Victory, which is going to cause you to triumph in His name!Prayer: Eternal Father, we confess that it's hard for us to wait. Give us the grace to wait in a way that honors and pleases You, In the strong name of Jesus.
