Word for the day "Give Thanks"
I Thessalonians’ 5:16 (NASB) Always be joyful. 17 Never stop praying. 18 Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus. Now this passage of scripture really shares the Heart of God for the Lord’s children. Carefully read “Give thanks in all circumstances (Not for all circumstances) is the will of God concerning you and me family of God. Yes you can be thankful in all things without being thankful for all things!Wow! What a reminder! There's no doubt in my mind that I could give thanks more often. We set aside meal time, Sunday mornings, and my favorite holiday; Thanksgiving. But, don't let an hour go by without giving thanks; for your work, school, children, health, your spouse, your blessings and your challenges. Yes we have to be reminded to always have a grateful mindset not for all things but rather in- spite of all things! This message is for someone who has just lost a loved one, someone has just received some bad news, and someone is hurting right now. I just stop by to tell you “God is with you”, and don’t lose sight of God at this difficult season in your life!Point to ponder: When you have a God-awareness about life and when you see and sense the Lord in your day (in the big things and the little things), it’s hard not to be thankful. A grateful heart is one that finds the countless blessings of God in the seemingly uneventful times everyday life. One of my favorite songs is (Give Thanks) Here are some of the words: "Give thanks" with a grateful heart, Give thanks to the Holy one, Give thanks for the Lord has given His Son Jesus Christ, and now let the weak say I am strong, let the poor say I am rich because of what the Lord has done for us "Give Thanks"! This is a marvelous way to end the week, enjoy your weekend and keep on Giving Thanks.Quote Charles Spurgeon “You say, 'If I had a little more, I should be very satisfied.' You make a mistake. If you are not content with what you have, you would not be satisfied if it were doubled”.In His Service,Pastor James Baker, Jr.
