Word for the day "Praying for God's Peace"

Philippians 4:6 (NLT) Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. 7 Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.Today’s message is for some precious friends of mine (Kersha Brown) whose cousin (Georgia Brown) just buried her three year old beautiful daughter (KayLee Williams) on Saturday November 29th 2014. As I sat in the service, I was able to takeaway some imperatives and wanted to share them with the World! We sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry it out. There are times when we are caught off guard by life. We are suddenly faced with problems that can wipe out our joy in an instant. Our hearts are broken and our minds begin to race in terror. When we are wrestling with unsettling problems that come our way and cause us to worry, it's time to run to God in prayer. In other words our prayer life will sustain us when life drastically changes for the worst. Do you have a prayer life? If not it's time to begin the work needed to develop your own prayer life! From his prison cell, Paul wrote this message: "Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God's peace, which exceeds anything we can understand" (Philippians 4:6-7). Please note this was a dire time for Paul, but look at his Godly insight in passage! (Pastor Drinks in his eulogy shared this passage as primary text for the bereaved Mother, Father, and family). The psalmist David wrote, "Enter his gates with thanksgiving; go into his courts with praise. Give thanks to him and praise his name. For the Lord is good. His unfailing love continues forever, and his faithfulness continues to each generation" (Psalm 100:4-5). Please note David’s Godly insight in passage!God's gates are always open to us. The Lord is waiting for us, whenever we are upset and in need of a friend. We may still feel the painful emotions. We don't just hand them over to God and expect them to disappear. But we can experience God's peace through prayer. Prayer is a useful tool to help us work through our problems. The Lord will give us his peace, reminding us that God’s there with us at all times in our life.Words of comfort- At times there are no words we can say, however being present with people and praying for them at their critical time is the best antidote for healing (It's called the Ministry of presence). To Ms. Georgia Brown, I have watched you from afar and you were a great Mom to your baby girl KayLee! We here are praying for you, and trust God to restore your joy one day at a time!Love and Honor,Pastor James Baker, Jr.
