Word for the day "Lord I need more Faith"

Mark 9:21 (NIV) Jesus asked the boy’s father, “How long has he been like this? ”from childhood,” he answered. 22 “It has often thrown him into fire or water to kill him. But if you can do anything, take pity on us and help us.”23 “‘If you can’?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for one who believes.”24 Immediately the boy’s father exclaimed, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!”A wise sixteenth-century Christian once said we can only love God to the extent we know him. Think about it. Can you surrender to God if you don't know the Lord’s character? Can you trust God with your life, here and hereafter, if you are not sure God’s willing and able to care for you?All I am saying today is that this all takes faith in God. And the Bible says faith “is the confident assurance that what we hope for is going to happen. It's the evidence of things we cannot yet see.” And the Bible says that faith is grounded in our very understanding of God: “Anyone who wants to come to (God), must believe that there is a God and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him” (Hebrews 11:6). Before you can really seek God, you've got to truly believe that your search will lead to something, somewhere, and most importantly, to Someone worth looking for!If you don't have faith, ask God for it. If the faith you have is not as strong as you think it ought to be, ask God to help you strengthen your faith. This might seem like putting the cart before the horse, but the Bible speaks of faith as a gift rather than something you obtain by your own efforts. I am so grateful wherever there is deficit in my life, all I have to do is ask the Lord to help me!Point to ponder- In today’s reading the Father asked Jesus to help his unbelief and Jesus did so rapidly by healing the man’s son. What is it that you need the Lord to help you with? I just want to inform some and remind others: Just ask the Lord for help!For His Glory,Pastor James Baker, Jr.
