Word for the day "The Race of Life"

Hebrews 12:1 (NKJV) Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.If you are in relationship with God, God has already begun transforming your heart. But the Lord also wants you to enter life in him like an athlete enters competition. That's why the Bible, more than once, likens the Christian life to a race. Our faith in Christ motivates us to run it, and God’s power provides the strength to finish-despite the many times we all stumble along the way. We all stumble people of God, so stay in the race. This illustration of a race refers to races where the runner would strip off his tunic and robe so he could run without any hindrance. If someone tried to compete in his robes, he would get tangled up and wouldn't have a chance at winning. How are you doing in the race of life?Point to ponder- God wants you to finish the race of life well. Set aside the distractions and the sins that entangle you. Pace yourself, push yourself. And remember, many have run and finished before you. They are those the Bible says that "huge crowd of witnesses" in (Hebrews 12:1) speaks about, and they're cheering you on! Some of them are those in our family and friends that have transitioned before us, they are cheering for us.Kingdom Blessings,Pastor James Baker, Jr.
