Word for the day "Work and God"
II Thessalonians 3: 7 For you yourselves know how you ought to follow us, for we were not disorderly among you; 8 nor did we eat anyone’s bread free of charge, but worked with labor and toil night and day, that we might not be a burden to any of you, 9 not because we do not have authority, but to make ourselves an example of how you should follow us.Too often we view our work in a disgruntle way rather than a divine calling. God ordained work to humankind. I am suggesting today that our work should be viewed not as a necessary pain that we must endure for the purpose of making money, but as a way of life in which we find personal expressions to bring God's glory. How do you view your job or career?Work is a resource of provision in the Lord’s plan for our lives. Through work we provide for ourselves, family, friends, and our Kingdom purposes. I am learning to see work in some new ways, even when at times I don’t like what I am doing or the people I am working with. The challenge is having the right perspective in understanding work!Point to ponder - With the right mindset your work can be a resource of personal blessing and bring glory to God. Have a great day at work, and if you are not working I am certain you would like to have the problems associated with work at this point in your life. Our Leadership team is especially thankful for those of you who provided financial donations and support in the month of February 2016 by partnering with us in efforts to advance the kingdom of God in this 21st century season: Special thanks to Mr. Calvin Jackson, Mr. William Wilson, and Ms. Vanessa Gaskins.
