Word for the day "Our Lord prepares Us"

Matthew 10:16 (NKJV) “Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves. 17 But beware of men, for they will deliver you up to councils and scourge you in their synagogues. Before Jesus' return to heaven, he spoke to his disciples. Our Lord didn't motivate them with tales of adventure and excitement. Jesus didn't send them off with a pep talk about positive thinking. Nor did our Lord promise them early retirement in a gated community. Jesus prepared the disciples by sharing the challenges they would have to face. Please notice our Lord sent them off with this ominous warning, 'Look, I am sending you out as sheep among wolves' (Matthew 10:16). Jesus protected them from future doubt, disappointment, and despair by preparing them for what was to come. How do you prepare for your future? And every child who enters the world does so by pushing against its mother to forge an independent identity. Growth always takes place against something, and spiritual growth is no different. It takes place in a world opposed to God, and it happens among people who are apathetic, indifferent, and sometimes even belligerent. Our Lord prepares us family of God!Point to ponder- Our Lord empowered the disciples by teaching them truth and warning them about real life situations they would encounter. In this Lent season what is the Lord teaching you?Our Leadership team is especially thankful for those of you who provided financial donations and support in the month of March 2016 by partnering with us in efforts to advance the kingdom of God in this 21st century season: Special thanks to  Mr. William Wilson.
