Word for the day "Our Father"
Job 29:12 (ESV) because I delivered the poor who cried for help, and the fatherless who had none to help him.I grew up in a family where my father was always there for me. My Dad was a good man and had a great sense of family and love. Dad wasn’t a religious man by he was a man of faith in God with a compassionate heart. I was truly blessed to be born into his family. Some of you reading today’s message, story may be different. Your father wasn't a positive role model for you. Or, your father deserted your family or died young. You grew up without a father, and just hearing someone refer to "dad" or "daddy" is painful for you. I trust today's message helps some? The absence of that all important person in your life left an insatiable vacancy within you. The role of your biological father is so important that it can affect how you perceive God as your heavenly father. I hope that no matter how bad your experience was with your natural father, that you won't be afraid to see God as your Heavenly Father. Beloved of God would you consider and take refuge in today’s message that our God will be a father to the fatherless. God knows how to fill the vacancies in our lives, and today's message is an indication that the Lord desires to fill the void you are experiencing. To others, God will bring a father-figure into your life and begin to fill that vacancy. If you have a father vacancy in your life, I am praying right now for God to fill that void within you, however the Lord chooses. However, be receptive to the person or father figure God puts in your life, often we struggle because it’s not the person who we want! Your father could be living and in your life but there is still a vacancy you are experiencing for many reasons.Point to ponder - If you don't have that vacancy and void, and you are a man who was blessed like I was to have a dad that loved me and was there for me, look to see if God might be calling you to be a father to the fatherless on His behalf. The Lord wants to redefine your understanding of a father in this Lenten season, how about giving the Lord a try!Our Leadership team is especially thankful for those of you who provided financial donations and support in the month of March 2016 by partnering with us in efforts to advance the kingdom of God in this 21st century season: Special thanks to Mr. William Wilson, Mr. Dominique Gatling and Ms. Gertrude Scott.
