Word for the day "The Power of Rest"
Genesis 2:2 (NKJV) And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done.Physical exhaustion is one of the Lord’s ways of telling us to regroup. God expects us to work hard, of course, but the Lord also intends for us to rest. When we fail to take the rest that we need, we do a disservice to ourselves and to our families. Are you tired? We live in a world that tempts us to stay up late-very late. We live in a world that encourages us to shake and move, combined with too little sleep, is a prescription for exhaustion. We must take the necessary steps to insure that we have sufficient rest and that we take care of our bodies and our mind. Please be mindful if we make decisions that promote good health, our bodies respond. But if we fall into bad habits and undisciplined lifestyles, we suffer tragic consequences.Point to ponder- Are your physical or spiritual conditions running low? Is your energy on the decline? Are your emotions erratic ? If so, it's time to turn your thoughts and your prayers to the Lord! In today's reading the Lord taught us the power of rest. Our Leadership team is especially thankful for those of you who provided financial donations and support in the month of June 2016 by partnering with us in efforts to advance the kingdom of God in this 21st century season: Special thanks to Mr. William Wilson, Ms. Gertrude Scott, Mrs. Denise Johnson, Ms. Kersha Brown, Mr. Kenneth Washington, Mrs. Barbara Mason, and Ms. Vanessa Gaskins.
