Word for the day "The Grace of God"

Matthew 19: 13 (NIV) Then people brought little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them and pray for them. But the disciples rebuked them.14 Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” 15 When he had placed his hands on them, he went on from there.Jesus doesn't respond to us based on what we deserve to get. He responds based on what we need. Our Lord provides for our needs even though we are undeserving. Jesus died for us while we were still in rebellion against him. Notice how the Lord allows us to grow. The Lord doesn't force us to clean up our act before he comes into our lives. He meets our needs and gives us the grace and the space to grow. When I thought about how difficult it was to see my daughter Ashley while growing up develop some troubling characteristics, even dishonesty and rebellion, I suddenly saw the parallel with our Father God and all of his children. Every one of us is rebellious. And yet Lord accepts us wherever we are. The Lord refuses to abandon us or give us what we so richly deserve.Point to ponder- Thinking about the grace of God will help you become a grace giver to your children. Their imperfections help you to see your own. Accepting them as they are helps you to taste the wonder of how God accepts you as you are.
