Word for the day "Give Thanks"
I Thessalonians 5:18 (NIV) Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. The month of November reminds, reinforces, and reorients our minds and hearts to give thanks. So I just thought we could jumpstart the Thanksgiving season right now early in the month without further delay. Many of us are in the mindset of giving thanks always and that’s great and others of us just need a little nudge that no matter how good or bad things are, we want to give the Lord some thanksgiving! Can you see in your life that you need to give God thanks?Wow! What a reminder! There’s no doubt in my mind that I could give thanks more often. We set aside meal time, Sunday mornings, and my favorite holiday; Thanksgiving. But, don’t let an hour go by without giving thanks, for your work, school, kids, health, your spouse, your blessings and your challenges. Yes give thanks even in your challenges and in those tough days. That’s what today’s reading says “Give thanks in all circumstances” not necessarily for all siutations people of God.When you have a God-awareness about life, and when you see, and sense the Lord in your life (in the big things and the little things), its hard not to be thankful. So let’s start Thanksgiving today in all things as today’s passage reminds us!Our Leadership team is especially thankful for those of you who provided financial donations and support in the month of November 2017 by partnering with us in efforts to advance the kingdom of God in this 21st century season: Special thanks to Mr. William Wilson, Mr. Calvin Jackson, Mrs. Annette Straker, Ms. Ollie Tipton, Ms. Jacqueline Frazier, Ms. Mable Bazemore, and Ms. Gertrude Scott.
