Word for the day "Make God your choice"
Ecclesiastes 12:13 (NKJV) Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep His commandments, for this is man’s all.
Those of us who have a relationship with God must share it with our family and friends.
Before Solomon was anointed the king, his father King David said to him, "As for you, my son Solomon, know the God of your father, and serve Him with a loyal heart and with a willing mind; for the LORD searches all hearts and understands all the intent of the thoughts. If you seek Him, He will be found by you; but if you forsake Him, He will cast you off forever” (I Chronicles 28:9).Does this mean we have to be perfect in our relationship with the Lord?David was literally saying, “Son, listen to me. I know a thing or two about life. I’ve made my mistakes, but I also followed the Lord and served Him.You need to serve the Lord with an undivided heart. You can’t live off my faith, son. You need your own faith.” Do you have your own relationship with God? Are you working on your own relationship with God?
We must develop our own relationship with God, and all the challenges connected.
Initially, Solomon followed his father’s David’s advice. His heart wasn’t divided at first. But then he started opening himself up to things that he had no business being a part of. Things went from bad to worse.Solomon went on a little research project to see what was out there. Solomon did everything and tried everything. In the end, here was his conclusion: “Fear God and keep His commandments, for this is man’s all” (Ecclesiastes 12:13). Can you relate to Solomon’s conclusion?When you rest in the fact that God's job description includes the responsibility of seeing that everything in your life turns out for your good, then your heart will not yield to protecting your image or playing it safe; and you won't hold back from telling your family and friends what God really means to your life.Nothing will have a more important practical impact on the way you use your money, spend your leisure, pursue your vocation, rear children, deal with conflict, or handle anxiety.Heartfelt confidence that the sovereign God is working everything together for your good out of sheer grace affects every area of your life.
Point to ponder
The deep emotional assurance that, even though you are a sinner, God's attention is focused on you with omnipotent mercy is the day-to-day power to give you deep peace in your times of confusion and challenges.God’s commandments protect us in this journey of life, which keeps us from getting ourselves into greater trouble. When Solomon said, “This is man’s all,” he was saying, “This is what will make a whole man.”If you want to be a whole man/whole woman, then you need to reverence and honor God.
