Word for the day "More crisis emerging"
As we continue to journey through these crisis times. We here at Grace and Truth Leadership want to continue to be here for you and your families.
It is our hope that our communications and messages are providing for you some inspiration, information, and impartation.
These are really unprecedented times and yes, many challenges have been handled, but we still have a long way to go. And this disruption has hit so many facets of our daily lives.
More crisis emerging in this time of COVID-19; we see and are touched by the evil of racism like never before in the 21st century.
A father Gregory McMichael, 64, and his 34-year-old son, Travis McMichael, two white men were arrested Thursday, May 7th in the evening.
They face charges of murder and aggravated assault in the klling of Ahmaud Arbery a young black man 26 years old on February 23, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
Marcus Arbery Sr. likened his son's killing to a modern-day lynching. "Anytime you pursue a young man, go jump in a truck with shotguns and a pistol and you follow him and slaughter him like that, that's lynching," he said.
These are matters just below the surface in our society and we all have to agree this is another tragedy that should not have happened.
We are concerned in this season for our country and our leadership, it is clear that mental, emotional, and relational health has escalated and has suffered under this period of social distancing.
Many churches are now forced to address the emotional health concerns as connected to our faith in God.
The realities of anxiety, fears, and stress, even topics like depression, loneliness, and suicide, are at all-time highs.
Crisis force all us to do things you previously thought about doing and now really have to do them.
Lastly, the news of yet another leader Darrin Patrick, a megachurch pastor, author, and speaker, has died.
Patrick was a teaching pastor at Seacoast Church, a multi-site megachurch based in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, and the founding pastor of the Journey Church in St. Louis, where he lived.
He died of what appears to be a "self-inflicted gunshot wound," according to a statement from the church.
No official cause of death has been released, according to the church. Patrick's unexpected death came as a shock to friends and colleagues.
What’s making it more complicated is that as much as we all wish things would just go back to normal, they really are not.
At least not exactly as they were prior to COVID-19. We will be living in a new normal, and I’m preparing myself and all those under my influence to get ready to be the change and the difference we want to see in this world.
Prayer is and will be defining in this season, so whatever you do “Please don’t stop praying”
