AUTHENTIC MENTORSHIP IN YOUR LIFE CAN HELP YOU MAKE CHARACTER BUILDING CHOICES.
At this point in your life would you like an authentic way to build character? If so, then you should search for a few authentic coaches or mentors; men and women whose character you admire, and just connect and learn various aspects of their character. With that in mind, opportunities for engagement for professional and personal development exist at multiple levels:
Leaders typically are willing to devote extra time to help others sharpen their skills or learn new ones, and people are looking for advice and guidance on advancing their careers from those with more experience all the time. A seasoned coach or mentor in your life can help you make character-building choices. And just as importantly, a thoughtful coach or mentor can help you recognize and avoid the hidden big-time mistakes that can derail your day, career, and even your life.
We all need coaches and mentors in our lives and those that can add value to the person we are and are becoming daily. Wise coaches and mentors are not really very hard to find if you look in the right places (Yet they are almost impossible to find if you look in the wrong places).
So today, as an exercise in character-building, select from your relationships or even seek out through research or recommendations a coach or mentor whose judgment you trust (or in many instances someone not in your circle of friends or family).
Then listen carefully to your coach or mentor’s advice and be willing to accept that advice even if accepting it requires work or pain, or both. Consider your coach or mentor to be God’s gift to you. Thank God for that gift and use it to be the person you need to be in character and integrity.
WE ALL HAVE A HUMAN NEED TO SEEK THE COUNSEL OF TRUSTED AND EXPERIENCED INDIVIDUALS.
Rely on the advice of trusted friends and mentors. (Proverbs 1:5) makes it clear: “A wise man will hear and increase learning, and a man of understanding will attain wise counsel” (NKJV). Do you want to be wise? Seek counsel from wise people, and let’s start today. The value of a successful coach/mentorship relationship hinges upon how well the goals you have for yourself can be understood and then executed within a structured developmental plan.
These developmental plans not only instill and encourage values like leadership and taking initiative. These plans provide a structure that instills incentives in people who are more likely to be productive and reach their optimal potential through best practices of accountability.

Key Differences Between Coaching and Mentoring:
Coaching is defined as help given by an expert to an individual for the improvement of their goals and performance. Mentoring refers to an activity where a person guides a less experienced person.
Coaching is task-oriented, but Mentoring is relationship-driven.
Coaching can be for the short term. Unlike Mentoring, which lasts for a longer duration. However, both can be for the period of time desired.
Coaching is well planned and structured while Mentoring is an informal one.
Coach draws out of individuals, but a mentor often pours into individuals.
Coach is an often expert in the concerned field whereas mentor possesses high knowledge and experience overall.
Coaching is tasked with improving the performance, goals of an individual. Mentoring, which concentrates on the career and all-around development of the individual.
