Word for the day: “Faith leaders.”
John 12:49 (NKJV) For I have not spoken on My authority; but the Father who sent Me gave Me a command, what I should say and what I should speak. 50. And I know that His command is everlasting life. Therefore, whatever I speak, just as the Father has told Me, so I speak.
Beloved Leaders,
I realize more now than ever before the need for the Lord in my life. Today’s message makes it clear that Jesus wants to be connected to each of us. This is critical to my journey, especially when I often don’t feel worthy of the love God offers to me and to each of us. God is in charge, and that is the lesson for today.
JESUS MAKES IT CLEAR TO THOSE IN CLOSE PROXIMITY THAT HE AND THE FATHER ARE ONE.
We all must know with certainty that God is not a distant force or a spiritual presence hanging out behind the scenes of our lives. The Lord should be understood as an option you can tap into when you like it. Jesus makes the case and points out that God is not a distant, supreme being who organized the universe long ago and now leaves us to figure life out on our own.
Jesus is saying God is the Lord. God is the commander, the ruler, the governor, the one who makes a demand and then intimately involves himself in the world's affairs; in fact, that’s who God is in the person of Jesus Christ. The Lord desires to be in a relationship with you and me.
JESUS IS CLEARLY IN CHARGE, AND THAT’S THE AMAZING NEWS FOR US ALL.
Bishop Barron writes and asserts in his daily reflection, “There is more to it; this Lord is one notion. As Joseph Ratzinger (Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI) argued, this is a subversive statement, for it undermines anyone or anything else’s claim to be absolute. No country, president, prime minister, culture, book, person, or political party is absolute—only God. The unity of God, for Jews and Christians, is not simply a theoretical claim; it is an enormously important existential claim. Jesus and the Father are one God, and who is the Lord of all creation”.
POINT TO PONDER
Something is amazing about our Lord; may your life be touched to the extent that you’ll never be the same. Jesus is ever with each of us now; may you find him in your journey through life’s peaks and valleys.
