Word for the day: “God has started something great in your life.”
Philippians 1:6 (NLT) And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.
Beloved Leaders,
Our devotion today shares for our leadership and life when the Apostle Paul was incarcerated in a Roman prison for telling people about Jesus, he sent a letter of hope to his friends back in Philippi. A portion of it said in today’s reading:
“And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.” Philippians 1:6 NLT.
Great leaders, seem to have a way of impacting our lives regardless of their life’s challenges. Although Paul was writing to specific people in the first-century Church, his words are just as true for the global Church and for our leadership life today.
Consider: Who started this thing we call life? Who made this world and everything in it? Who fine-tuned the universe, and world we live in to make sense for us? Who put you and me here—at this specific time in history? Who created and specified your body, your mind, your strengths, and your unique-to-you personality? Who began this good work? The workmanship of our existence (Ephesians 2:10).
Before you were ever born, God already had you in mind. Before you could even walk or talk or have dreams for yourself, God already had a plan for your and me. Before you knew to look to God or to follow Him or to worship Him, God was already at work—in you, around you, and through you.
Sometimes it feels like we’re just wasting time and taking up space, without real purpose. But it turns out—God was and is intentional and He makes no mistakes concerning our purpose, His plan, and His process.
POINT TO PONDER:
· God always finishes what He starts.
· Your story isn’t over.
· God’s plan for your life is still working
· Until then, let’s commit to God’s good work inside of us.
· Let’s magnify God in everything we do.
· Let’s believe that the Lord finishes what He has begun in our life.
· God has started something great in your life.
