Word for the day “Only God can do it.”

I Peter 5:10 (NKJV) But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.

 Good morning, Leaders,

When I take inventory of my life, it’s clear to me that there are some things that only God can do. Perhaps today, you may agree with me on this: many times, God doesn’t take away the troubled waters of your life, but the Lord will be a bridge over troubled waters, no matter what storms may come your way.

LIFE HAS A WAY OF TEACHING US SOME ESSENTIAL TRUTHS.

If we’re honest, despite our good intentions to be there for people, to stick with them “in good and bad times,” to love them “unconditionally,” we all fall short.  At the same time, this reality is also true for those we look to for strength. Yes, we can look to family for help, but you know how it feels to be disappointed by the people who promised to “be there for us” when we’re falling and to “raise us up” when we are in the low places of life.

The only one who has never disappointed me is God.  God's faithfulness is best seen in the person of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. If you look to another person to be this “Bridge over the troubles in your life,” you are expecting someone else to do something only God can do for you.

Only God has the power to heal our sickness, raise the dead, and create something out of nothing. Only God has the strength to carry all our sins to the cross. Only God has the power to declare sinners into saints. And only God can promise to lift those who are broken and in low places in life.

  POINT TO PONDER

Yes, even when God doesn’t take away the “troubled times, tests, and trials” of your life, he is the bridge you can lean on no matter what storms come your way. Today is just a reminder that there are simply some things that “Only God can do.”
