Word for the day: “You are what God says about you.”
Deuteronomy 28:13 (NKJV) And the Lord will make you the head and not the tail; you shall be above only, and not be beneath, if you heed the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you today, and are careful to observe them.
GOOD MORNING, MY BELOVED LEADERS,
It appears that many of us hold the pervasive belief that “I am not worth it, and I’m not enough.” But today, I want to remind some and encourage others that you are who God says you are, and that settles it.
BE CAREFUL WHO YOU ALLOW TO INFLUENCE YOUR LIFE.
One of the main challenges in life is the extent to which we allow other people to influence our lives. Because of the many lies we have been told by other people, many of us believe that we are not worth love, great things, a good life, forgiveness, or care. However, be cautious about who influences you and whom you listen to in your life and leadership.
However, what the Lord says is even more critical (Romans 5:8 NKJV). God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” While we were yet sinners, or even when we least deserved it, or when we were not “worth it” by any earthly standard… that is the very time when God made the greatest sacrifice and showed the most powerful act of love in all of history. Always remember all that God says about you; that is your foundation for your life and leadership journey.
GOD WANTS THE BEST FOR YOU.
I have jotted down some of the seemingly insurmountable problems and situations we have faced over the years. It is fantastic and wonderful to see and have a record of how God has delivered us from so many of them, in his own time and in his own way. Being reminded of God’s ability to deliver us increases our faith that he can do it again. God really is powerful. In fact, God is all-powerful; he is ‘omnipotent’. You can trust him (II Chronicles 20:12 NKJV).
So yes, there are some people who will say, “No, no, you don’t deserve the forgiveness of your family or the kindness of those you have hurt and done wrong,” But the great beauty of God is this: even though you don't deserve God's mercy, you get it anyway. I have received abundant grace and mercy despite my own shortcomings and mistakes. The same abundant grace and mercy are available to You. You do not deserve it, but praise be to God that he does treat us like our sins deserve. Whatever you have done, a mistake you have made, the pain you have caused-- Leave it at the altar of God. Lay down your guilt and accept God's forgiveness. You are who God says you are, my sisters and brothers.
POINT TO PONDER
Begin to pay attention to what God and leaders who share life-giving words in your life. Then go and be amazing; great things are on your horizon.
