Word for the day: "A Place of Weakness"
II Corinthians12: 9 (NIV) But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 10 That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong. As this week has come to an end; many of us are worn down from the grind of work, family, and life. In the process of being worn down can leave each of us in place where we find ourselves vulnerable and exhausted. I thought I would share with you that God often uses those who are in a place of personal weakness and being vulnerable to life’s daily circumstances. God allows us to be weak and worn down, not strong or having strength before He will engage our hearts for service. Have you ever considered this perspective? On the surface we who God decides to use for His purposes; may appear that we are operating from a place of great strength. However, many of us really struggle to balance our influence and role with faith and humility. Paul the proverbial Apostle had great influence in the 1st century Church, but he also operated from a place of physical weakness. He was not a great speaker or impressive looking man as one might assume. But God assured Paul, as the text says v9 “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness” this profound message must be embraced by each of us connected to God in any manner. The understanding that with God’s assurance of grace, Paul was able to say, v10 “Therefore I will boast all the more gladly , about my weaknesses so that Christ’s power may rest on me” Now this does not make carnal sense but this is a real method the Lord uses with His own in making spiritual sense. When you belong to God and know who you are; expect God to take you through a season or seasons of character refinement designed to develop humility and trust in Him. And don’t forget to expect also that God’s grace will be sufficient for all you need.Prayer: Auspicious God, have your way in the lives of your people today, and lead us through the process of development designed for each us! God we expect you to complete the work in us; in our places of weakness and weariness, and now let the weak say I am strong, let the poor say I am rich, because of what the Lord has done for us in Jesus name Amen!Elder Baker
