Word for the day: "Time to win some souls"
Romans 10:14-17 (AMP) 14 But how are people to call upon Him Whom they have not believed [in Whom they have no faith, on Whom they have no reliance]? And how are they to believe in Him [adhere to, trust in, and rely upon Him] of Whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without a preacher? 15 And how can men [be expected to] preach unless they are sent? As it is written, How beautiful are the feet of those who bring glad tidings! [How welcome is the coming of those who preach the good news of His good things!] 16 But they have not all heeded the Gospel; for Isaiah says, Lord, who has believed (had faith in) what he has heard from us? 17 So faith comes by hearing [what is told], and what is heard comes by the preaching [of the message that came from the lips] of Christ (the Messiah Himself).Today the most used word in Christianity is “Kingdom Building”. But what Kingdom is really being built? What is kingdom building? Simply winning souls for Christ! Preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ that men might believe and that not one soul would be lost. John 3:14-15 (AMP) 14 And just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the desert [on a pole], so must [so it is necessary that] the Son of Man be lifted up [on the cross], 15 In order that everyone who believes in Him [who cleaves to Him, trusts Him, and relies on Him] may not perish, but have eternal life and [actually] live forever! It is sad to know that Kingdom building isn’t what it used to be. I am from the old school church and back then it was called “Soul winning” (can I get an Amen!) and we were serious about winning Souls for Christ. I remember the tent revivals, street meetings, handing out tracks and witnessing to co-workers and friends about the love of God. What happen to those days of winning Souls for Christ? I remember being in street meetings where the love of God was being shared with loving kindness, not standing on a street corner screaming hells damnation and foaming at the mouth giving off the impression that Christians are crazy (A bunch of foolishness). For the bible declares in (Jeremiah 31:3 (KJV) The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with loving kindness have I drawn thee) We were drawing people, they we listening and many even gave their life to Christ right there on those street corners (To God be the glory). Long gone are those days. We don’t even do a alter call on Sunday morning anymore what a shame.Today’s preachers have gotten away from winning Souls, they are too busy building their own Kingdoms (ouch!) it’s true. It’s time out for preaching what sounds good to the ear; it’s time to start preaching the Kingdom of God! We know all the great things that God has in store for his people, Its time to stop pacifying believers who know Gods way and who know what God expects out of their life. It’s time to focus on those who are lost, who are in need of a relationship with God. Its time to start sharing the love of God to people who don’t believe, who have no faith, and are on their way to Hell (real talk) It’s time to preach God’s return….for He is coming soon. What kind of Kingdom are we helping to build? When is the last time we witnessed to someone? If you have to think about it, then it’s been way too long. Let’s start today by telling one person about the love of God. Let’s get back to “winning Souls for Christ”Stay tuned tomorrow for part 2 of “Time to win some Souls” Peace and blessing and remember Kingdom Building is about building Gods Kingdom not man’s.Robin Baker
