Word for the day: "Satan will try to hinder you"
Nehemiah 4:7 (NLT) But when Sanballat, Tobiah, the Arabs, the Ammonites and the people of Ashdod heard that the repairs to Jerusalem’s walls had gone ahead and that the gaps were being closed, they were very angry. 8 They all plotted together to come and fight against Jerusalem and stir up trouble against it. 9 But we prayed to our God and posted a guard day and night to meet this threat.Since the first hour in which goodness came into conflict with evil, it has never ceased to be true in all our spiritual experiences, that Satan hinders us. From all points of this life, all along the line of battle, on every leaning side, at the dawn of day and in the midnight hour, Satan hinders us. If we toil in our work lives, he seeks to break our motivation to do the right thing; if we build a decent life in God, he labors to cast down stones to destroy us; if we would serve God in suffering or in conflict, everywhere Satan hinders us, “Satan hindered us.” (I Thessalonians 2:18).He hinders us when we are first coming to Jesus Christ. Fierce conflicts we had with Satan when we first looked to the cross and made the decision for Christ. Now that we are saved, he endeavors to hinder the completeness of our personal character. You may be congratulating yourself, “I have attempted to walk consistently; so that no man can challenge my integrity.” Yet I find myself under attack in many of my daily capacities and I know this is true for you sisters and brothers.Beware of boasting, for your virtue will yet be tried; Satan will direct his attack against that very virtue for which you are the most famous. If you have been committed and firm believer, your faith will inevitably experience an attack to hinder you. As soon as Ezra and Nehemiah begin to labor, Sanballat and Tobiah are stirred up to hinder them (Nehemiah 4:7-9). What then? We are not alarmed because of Satan’s attack of hindrances, for it is a proof that we are on the Lord’s side, and are doing the Lord’s work, and in His strength we shall win the victory, and triumph over our adversary. May you have a marvelous weekend, we still have the victory over the attacks of Satan, Love you all so much, thanks for allowing me to serve you.Elder Baker
