Word for the day "Do you spend time with God?"

Romans 2: 4 (NLT) Don’t you see how wonderfully kind, tolerant, and patient God is with you? Does this mean nothing to you? Can’t you see that his kindness is intended to turn you from your sin?Story for your consideration: Right before Thanksgiving, an elderly man in Phoenix called his son in New York and said, "Your mother and I are divorcing, 45 years of misery is enough. But I'm sick of talking about this, so please call your sister and tell her the news."The son called his sister in Chicago and she immediately called her father. “You're not getting divorced!" she said, "We'll be there tomorrow. Until then, don't do a thing.”The old man hung up the phone and turned with a slick smile to his wife. “They're coming for Thanksgiving and paying their own fares!”Point to ponder: If you are a parent, you can appreciate the humor of this story. Yet I must say I'm glad we never have to worry about God using deception to get us to spend time with him. Instead, he demonstrates his great love through His Son, Jesus. In today’s reading we see its God’s love that brings us to place of wanting to be in His presence!Do you spend time with God? How do you spend time with God? At this time of Advent why don't you begin spending time with the Lord! For His Glory,Pastor James Baker, Jr.
