| I Samuel 20:42 (KJV)And Jonathan said to David, Go in peace, forasmuch as we have sworn both of us in the name of the Lord, saying, The Lord be between me and thee, and between my seed and thy seed forever. And he arose and departed: and Jonathan went into the city.Are there people in your life, hurt over your unkept promises? Is it too late to go back now and try to make it right? There's a prominent story in the Bible that teaches us that it's not too late. And it's the story of King David and Jonathan. Sisters and brothers you can make it right in this season of your life!King David and Jonathan were the best of friends through incredible challenges, and the biggest one was that Saul, Jonathan's father, maliciously hunted David and tried to kill him for years. Yet, Jonathan's love for his beloved friend David was strong and didn't diminish. As a result, David made a promise to always show kindness to Jonathan's family. There are some relationships you just have to fight for!Yet, for many years that promise went unremembered. And Mephibosheth, Jonathan's only living son, lived for a long time with the pain of David's unkept promise. But then, David sought Mephibosheth out and kept his promise, he gave Mephibosheth all the land Saul once owned and allowed him to live in the palace as one of his own sons. The story is so much more, but I had to give you the abbreviated version read it for yourself (II Samuel Chapter 9).Point to ponder - It took David quite some time to honor his promise, but he held to his promise to his beloved friend Jonathan, and you can too!
